Official Publication CR-001
Community Rules
The public standard for community safety, fair play, roleplay integrity, and accountable enforcement across the Eden RP network.
Eden RP Leadership
Official Community Rulebook
This publication governs out-of-character conduct. In-character acts are governed by Eden law unless the player uses them to deliberately disrupt or avoid roleplay.
Controlling Principle
If it is not written, it is not punishable.
A player may only be punished when their conduct satisfies a rule published in the Eden RP Documentation Library at the time of the conduct. Staff may evaluate evidence and severity under a written rule, but may not invent a new offense, apply an unpublished expectation, or punish retroactively.
Cheating, harassment, malicious disruption, refusal to roleplay, communication abuse, and misuse of community systems.
Crimes, traffic offenses, firearms, business activity, property, government action, and other in-character matters.
Staff remain outside roleplay and intervene only when a written Community Rule is engaged or roleplay can no longer continue fairly.
1. Foundation and Authority
Defines what these rules govern, where they apply, and the limits placed on enforcement.
-
CR 1.1
Purpose of the Community Rules
The Community Rules protect fair access, community safety, and the integrity of the roleplay environment. They govern player conduct outside the fictional legal system and are not a replacement for Eden law.
Effect Establishes the scope of this publication.
-
CR 1.2
Primacy of In-Character Institutions
Legitimate in-character conduct, including crime, conflict, arrest, medical response, court action, and imprisonment, should be handled by Eden's in-character institutions whenever the participants remain willing to roleplay.
Effect Staff action is not a substitute for police, EMS, courts, government, or corrections.
-
CR 1.3
Minimal Staff Visibility
Whenever reasonably possible, staff intervention must occur privately and outside the active roleplay environment. Staff should observe discreetly, avoid influencing scene outcomes through visible administrative action, and allow legitimate roleplay to conclude before addressing a non-urgent Community Rule issue.
Effect Players should rely on Eden's institutions, not visible staff intervention, to resolve in-character situations. Immediate safety, security, cheating, or sustained disruption risks may still be isolated at once.
-
CR 1.4
Written Authority
Only rules and policies officially published in the Eden RP Documentation Library may be enforced. Custom, traditional, assumed, or verbal expectations are not enforceable unless they are published.
Effect Unwritten rules have no disciplinary authority.
-
CR 1.5
No Retroactive Punishment
A new or amended rule applies only after publication. Conduct that was not prohibited when it occurred may be addressed by a future policy change, but the player may not be punished retroactively.
Effect Enforcement begins from publication, not before it.
-
CR 1.6
Application of Written Rules
A specific method of misconduct does not need to be named when it clearly satisfies a published rule. For example, a newly discovered duplication method is covered by the written prohibition on duplication. Interpretation may identify whether conduct fits a rule; it may not create a new offense.
Effect Written rules control; technical wording cannot create an unwritten offense or erase a clearly written one.
-
CR 1.7
Network Scope
These rules apply to Eden RP game servers, official Discord servers, the website, applications, support systems, and other services operated by Eden RP. Conduct outside those spaces is considered only when it directly threatens community safety, security, or access.
Effect Private disputes with no direct Eden RP impact are outside scope.
-
CR 1.8
Founder and Permanent Ownership Authority
Eden RP is permanently owned and operated by its Founder, Gabriel Nickhen. The Founder retains final out-of-character authority over the project, including its infrastructure, development, branding, staffing, community management, security, services, and long-term direction. Eden RP is not offered for sale or transfer, and no office, staff rank, roleplay position, election, partnership, or in-character institution acquires ownership of the project.
Effect Founder authority governs Eden RP as a real community and technical project. It does not replace Eden law inside roleplay, decide an in-character court case, or create an unpublished player offense. Ordinary roleplay remains governed by Eden's written institutions and publications.
2. Community Safety
Protects members from targeted abuse, real-world harm, privacy violations, and coordinated disruption.
-
CR 2.1
Targeted Harassment
Sustained or repeated conduct aimed at humiliating, intimidating, isolating, or driving a person from the community is prohibited. Ordinary disagreement, criticism, competitive banter, or a single non-threatening argument is not harassment by itself.
Enforcement Context, repetition, targeting, and harm must be shown.
-
CR 2.2
Discrimination and Hate Content
Targeting a person or group with degrading, exclusionary, or hostile conduct based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or another protected personal characteristic is prohibited.
Enforcement Quoting or discussing content in a legitimate report is not the same as directing it at others.
-
CR 2.3
Real-World Threats and Intimidation
Credible threats of real-world harm, blackmail, coercion, stalking, or attempts to frighten a person through real-world consequences are prohibited. Clearly fictional in-character threats remain governed by roleplay and Eden law.
Enforcement Staff must distinguish character speech from threats directed at the real person.
-
CR 2.4
Personal and Private Information
Publishing, threatening to publish, requesting, trading, or using another person's non-public identifying information without permission is prohibited. This includes addresses, private contact details, account credentials, private images, and information intended to locate or endanger someone.
Enforcement Safety takes priority and exposed information must be removed promptly.
-
CR 2.5
Sexual Harassment and Exploitative Content
Unwanted sexual remarks directed at a person, sexual coercion, sexualized humiliation, explicit sexual content in community spaces, and exploitative sexual content are prohibited.
Enforcement Consent and the public nature of the space are central to review.
-
CR 2.6
Impersonation and Deceptive Identity
Impersonating Eden RP leadership, staff, an official department account, or another real community member in order to deceive, obtain access, damage reputation, or issue false instructions is prohibited. Legitimate in-character disguise is governed by Eden law and roleplay standards.
Enforcement Satire without a reasonable risk of deception is not impersonation.
-
CR 2.7
Coordinated Raids and Malicious Disruption
Organizing or participating in coordinated spam, mass disruption, account flooding, channel destruction, service interference, or an attack intended to disable or overwhelm Eden RP is prohibited.
Enforcement Legitimate criticism or organized feedback is not a raid.
-
CR 2.8
Unauthorized Advertising and Recruitment
Using Eden RP spaces or unsolicited direct messages to promote another server, commercial service, referral scheme, or organized recruitment effort without authorization is prohibited. Approved partnerships, personal social links where allowed, and ordinary conversation are permitted.
Enforcement A link alone is not advertising without promotional or recruitment context.
3. Fair Play and Security
Protects gameplay, accounts, data, and connected systems from unfair or unauthorized interference.
-
CR 3.1
Cheating
Using software, modified clients, injected code, scripts, hardware features, or other methods to gain information, movement, accuracy, protection, resources, or capabilities unavailable through approved gameplay is prohibited.
Enforcement A serious sanction requires reliable technical, visual, or corroborated evidence.
-
CR 3.2
Exploit and Glitch Abuse
Knowingly using a bug, unintended mechanic, map defect, permission error, or system flaw to gain an advantage, avoid a consequence, access restricted content, or damage the server is prohibited. Accidental discovery is not misconduct when the player stops and reports it.
Enforcement Knowledge and continued use must be considered.
-
CR 3.3
Duplication and Data Manipulation
Duplicating items, currency, vehicles, property, records, permissions, or other persistent data, or knowingly retaining and distributing duplicated assets, is prohibited.
Enforcement Illegitimate records or assets may be corrected without treating the correction as an additional punishment.
-
CR 3.4
Unauthorized Automation and Information
Automation, macros, overlays, external tools, or connected services are prohibited when they perform gameplay, reveal hidden information, evade limitations, or provide a material advantage. Accessibility tools and harmless quality-of-life tools are permitted unless a published policy specifically restricts them.
Enforcement The actual advantage must be identified; unfamiliar software alone is not proof.
-
CR 3.5
Unauthorized System Access
Attempting to access, modify, probe, overload, bypass, or extract data from Eden RP accounts, bots, APIs, databases, hosting, administrative tools, or restricted website routes without authorization is prohibited.
Enforcement Authorized security testing requires prior written approval.
-
CR 3.6
Account and Punishment Evasion
Using another account, identity, device, or person to bypass a suspension, access restriction, application decision, role restriction, or other active administrative measure is prohibited.
Enforcement Alternate accounts are not prohibited unless used for evasion, deception, unfair advantage, or disruption.
-
CR 3.7
Responsible Vulnerability Reporting
A discovered vulnerability, duplication method, security flaw, or severe exploit must be reported privately through an official support channel. Players must not publish instructions, demonstrate the flaw publicly, or continue testing it beyond what is reasonably necessary to describe the issue.
Enforcement Good-faith private reporting is protected.
-
CR 3.8
Account Responsibility
Members are responsible for securing their accounts and may not knowingly allow another person to use their account to evade rules or gain access. A player who promptly reports a genuine account compromise will be evaluated on the available evidence rather than automatically blamed for every action.
Enforcement Account ownership alone is evidence, not an irrebuttable presumption.
4. Roleplay Integrity
Defines the narrow point where a player's out-of-character conduct prevents the roleplay systems from functioning.
-
CR 4.1
Genuine Intent to Roleplay
Players must participate with a genuine intent to create and continue roleplay. Treating Eden RP as a deathmatch, repeatedly refusing all interaction, or joining primarily to disrupt others is prohibited.
Enforcement Poor experience, mistakes, losing a scene, or unconventional characters do not alone prove a lack of intent.
-
CR 4.2
In-Character Crime Is Not a Community Violation
Murder, assault, robbery, kidnapping, vehicle offenses, corruption, and other fictional crimes are not Community Rule violations merely because they are illegal in Eden. They are handled by police, courts, government, corrections, and other in-character systems when the player remains engaged in roleplay.
Effect Staff address the player's conduct, not the character's criminal charge.

-
CR 4.3
Deliberate Roleplay Disruption
Intentionally interrupting scenes, repeatedly provoking incidents with no roleplay purpose, obstructing events from outside the story, or using game mechanics solely to prevent others from participating is prohibited.
Enforcement Staff must identify the disruptive pattern or purpose; an inconvenient in-character action is not enough.
-
CR 4.4
Leaving to Avoid Active Consequences
Disconnecting, switching characters, or leaving an active scene to avoid an immediate roleplay consequence is prohibited. Crashes, connection loss, emergencies, and reasonable notice are not violations; the player should return or contact the involved parties when practical.
Enforcement Technical failure must not be treated as evasion without supporting evidence.
-
CR 4.5
Respawn and Suicide Evasion
Using respawn, suicide, intentional death, or another reset mechanic primarily to escape custody, injury, debt, identification, evidence, or another active roleplay consequence is prohibited unless the applicable roleplay policy permits it.
Enforcement The purpose of the reset must be established.
-
CR 4.6
External Information and Stream Interference
Using a livestream, private message, alternate account, external map, unauthorized bot output, or other out-of-character source to locate, target, avoid, or gain an advantage over participants in active roleplay is prohibited.
Enforcement Mere possession of outside information is not enough; use or attempted use must be shown.
-
CR 4.7
Reports Do Not Pause Roleplay
Submitting a report does not automatically stop, reverse, or invalidate an active scene. Players should continue roleplay unless staff privately instruct otherwise or continuing would create an immediate safety or security risk.
Effect Reports protect roleplay; they are not a tactical pause button.
-
CR 4.8
Mechanical Actions and Narration
Players are not required to narrate actions that Unturned allows them to physically perform. Text or voice narration may clarify intent, limitations, or details that the game cannot represent, but it may not force another player's action, injury, disarm, unconsciousness, or outcome.
Effect Eden RP uses Unturned's mechanics first and narration only where it adds necessary context.
5. Communication and Content
Keeps voice, text, names, media, and public spaces usable without controlling ordinary conversation.
-
CR 5.1
Spam and Channel Disruption
Repeated messages, mass mentions, flooding, command spam, disruptive formatting, or other conduct that materially prevents normal use of a channel or game communication system is prohibited.
Enforcement Normal activity, excitement, and occasional repeated messages are not spam without meaningful disruption.
-
CR 5.2
Voice and Audio Disruption
Sustained microphone noise, excessive volume, repeated soundboard use, audio intended to overwhelm others, or deliberate interference with operational radio and emergency communication is prohibited.
Enforcement Music and soundboards are permitted where the setting allows and participants are not being overwhelmed.
-
CR 5.3
Names, Profiles, and Public Media
Usernames, character names, avatars, business names, signs, uploads, and other public-facing content may not contain targeted harassment, hate content, explicit sexual content, personal information, malicious impersonation, or material designed primarily to disrupt the community.
Enforcement Staff should request correction before punishment when the issue is minor and readily fixed.
-
CR 5.4
Restricted and Confidential Material
Publishing or distributing restricted department documents, private reports, security details, application records, private support conversations, access credentials, or other material clearly designated as confidential is prohibited unless authorized.
Enforcement Information already published for the public is not confidential.
-
CR 5.5
Recording and Streaming
Gameplay and public community activity may be recorded or streamed. Recording may not be used to reveal restricted information, monitor private staff or support spaces, evade roleplay knowledge limits, or target a person for harassment.
Effect Ordinary content creation and evidence recording are allowed.
6. Reports and Investigations
Creates a quiet, evidence-based process that protects roleplay and keeps staff outside the public scene.
-
CR 6.1
Good-Faith Reports
Reports, tickets, and appeals must be submitted honestly and for a legitimate purpose. A report is not false merely because it cannot be proven or because the decision does not favor the reporting person.
Enforcement Deliberate fabrication or weaponized reporting must be distinguished from a mistaken belief.
-
CR 6.2
Evidence Integrity
Editing evidence to create a false impression, fabricating messages or media, concealing material context when directly asked for it, or knowingly presenting false evidence in a report, appeal, application, or investigation is prohibited.
Enforcement Ordinary trimming for length is allowed when relevant context is preserved or supplied on request.
-
CR 6.3
Cooperation During an Investigation
When privately contacted about a specific Community Rule investigation, members must not knowingly obstruct the process, destroy requested Eden RP evidence, evade contact, or continue the conduct under review. Members may ask what rule and incident are being investigated and may appeal the outcome.
Effect Cooperation does not require admitting fault or surrendering unrelated private information.
-
CR 6.4
Private and Discreet Handling
Active staff investigations should be handled privately. Participants may discuss their own experience, but may not organize harassment, expose protected evidence, pressure witnesses, or use public channels to interfere with the review.
Effect Criticism and appeals remain allowed; interference does not.
-
CR 6.5
Retaliation and Witness Pressure
Threatening, punishing, bribing, harassing, or excluding a person because they submitted a good-faith report, supplied evidence, participated in an investigation, or filed an appeal is prohibited.
Enforcement A separate disagreement is not retaliation without a connection to the protected participation.
-
CR 6.6
Immediate Risks
Cheating in progress, a live service attack, disclosure of personal information, credible real-world threats, or sustained mass disruption may be interrupted immediately. Staff should act discreetly, remove the immediate risk, and complete the review away from the roleplay scene.
Effect Emergency containment is temporary until the available evidence is reviewed.
7. Enforcement and Appeals
Requires evidence, proportionality, documented reasons, and a real opportunity to challenge a decision.
-
CR 7.1
Evidence-Based Decisions
Enforcement decisions must identify the published rule, the conduct that satisfied it, and the reliable evidence supporting the finding. Assumptions, reputation, rank, personal dislike, or pressure from a group are not sufficient grounds.
Standard More serious sanctions require stronger and clearer evidence.
-
CR 7.2
Proportional Response
The response must consider intent, severity, actual harm, prior related violations, cooperation, technical circumstances, and whether the behavior stopped when addressed. Similar cases should receive reasonably consistent outcomes.
Effect Punishment exists to protect the community, not to increase statistics or display authority.
-
CR 7.3
Correction Before Exclusion
When misconduct is minor, non-malicious, and capable of being corrected, staff should normally explain the rule and allow the player to correct it before using a suspension or permanent removal.
Exception Correction first is not required for severe safety, cheating, security, evasion, or malicious disruption cases.
-
CR 7.4
Immediate Permanent Removal
Immediate permanent removal is reserved for established cheating, deliberate doxxing, serious security attacks, credible real-world threats, severe exploit or duplication abuse, ban evasion, exploitative sexual content, or conduct clearly demonstrating no intention to participate in the community in good faith.
Standard The reason and supporting evidence must be documented.
-
CR 7.5
No Double Punishment
A player should not receive multiple independent punishments for the same conduct under duplicate descriptions. Separate written rules may be considered together when the same incident contains genuinely separate acts or harms.
Effect One incident may support several findings, but the overall response remains proportionate.
-
CR 7.6
Notice of Decision
A member who receives a formal warning, suspension, access revocation, or permanent removal should be told the rule, a concise reason, the duration where applicable, and the available appeal method unless doing so would expose protected security information.
Effect Members should not have to guess why action was taken.
-
CR 7.7
Appeal Rights
Formal enforcement may be appealed through the official appeal process. Appeals should identify an error in facts, evidence, rule application, procedure, proportionality, or relevant new information. Filing a respectful appeal is protected and does not justify additional punishment.
Standard Where practical, a person not primarily responsible for the original decision should review the appeal.
-
CR 7.8
Publication and Amendments
Leadership may correct omissions and amend these rules as Eden RP develops. Material changes must be published in the Documentation Library with a version or effective date before enforcement begins.
Effect The published version controls over screenshots, memory, or unofficial summaries.
-
CR 7.9
Unaddressed Conduct
When harmful or undesirable conduct is not covered by any published rule, staff may stop an immediate technical or safety risk, but may not punish the player for a nonexistent offense. Leadership may publish a clear rule governing future conduct.
Effect A documentation gap is Eden RP's responsibility, not the player's.
